In the mysterious ways of treating music directors, Kent Nagano has been
better known in Europe than in his own *home*.

In the SF Bay Area, where we have cherished auslander music directors
(Ozawa from Japan, de Waart from Holland, Blomstedt from Germany, even MTT
from Los Angeles...:), the pride of Morro Bay has been recognized more in
Manchester, Lyon and now Berlin than right here, in River City.

So, it's significant that Nagano is on the *cover* of this morning's SF
Chronicle Pink Section:
