David Orea C. reminded me of some half-forgotten jazz scores and in some
cases, the films they were written for. A couple I'd like to add are John
Lewis's No Sun in Venice, and especially Odds Against Tomorrow, the score
for which always reminds me of Ravel for no reason I can explain - the main
theme is, as it's meant to be, deliciously *cold*! Both are on CD with
miserly playing times, but wonderful playing by the MJQ. Now that Milt
Jackson's gone, I'm not sure who's left but it might be wise not to try
Dave's patience by asking, so I won't.
