Listened last night to Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez" (Naxos with
Norbert Kraft). This morning popped in a jazz version, Jim Hall's
"Concierto" on Sony (reissued CTI recording from the '70s).
I've come recently to classical music, after a 25 year passion for jazz,
and have always loved this Jim Hall recording. He only does the second
movement, but I think he captures the feeling perfectly. His partners on
the recording are Paul Desmond and Chet Baker.
For those of you who are not enthused with jazz, try this recording by Jim
Hall; it is pure joy.
