Iaian Simons wrote of his wife's perception of the Chandos
"Contemporaries of Mozart" title:

>She assumes that its' a marketing tool.

She's exactly right. For most list members it wouldn't make any difference
what the title was, but the general population knows the name "Mozart' and
likely never heard of Stamitz, Vanhal, and the rest.

Thee's nothing wrong with using a title to enhance the appeal of the
product. Chandos does want to maximize its sales, and no harm is done
to the musical content.
