Donald Satz writes concerning Haydn:
>More fluids? I'm awash in fluids. But, I do have a DG disc of Haydn
>symphonies from Jochum, and it is very good.
They are lively, aren't they? Not tepid. Sound is crisp and clean.
>I'll be ordering the Bruggen set; I have yet to find a period instrument
>recording of Haydn symphonies which truely satisfies me. So, Bruggen will
>be next up to the plate.
You might want to check Berkshire Records. They often have Bruggen cds
on sale. Noted some Beethoven in the past, as well as Haydn, 100,104,103,
101, 86, 88. Aroud six or seven bucks USA. Perhaps you mentioned going
there already. I've lost track.
On another note, can anyone recommend a biography of Otto Klemperer?
