Hello Karen & All,
> Oil will probably last longer, latex is easier to repaint.
Myself and others have had trouble with oil base peeling so we avoid using
oil base. I have also had trouble with low quality paints (like those sold
in 5 gallon buckets at farm stores for fence & barn) creating a *chalking*
effect which gets on clothes and gloves. I also use mismatches but only
from the higher priced paints when I can find those. When you use lighter
colors the different colors don't jump right out at you. I have got a
friend which uses the brighter, gloss mismatches and his yards are easy to
see. I also have mixed five different gallons of mismatch *light * colors
together in a five gallon pail to get more uniform colors through out the
yards.
Sincerely,

Ps. I also use primer on everything. "If its worth painting it's worth a
coat of primer". Still have to watch for sales on primer as no mismatches
in the primer department!
