The most heartbreakingly beautiful Dowland (and contemporaries) IMO is sung
by Alfred Deller in the late fifties and early sixties.  Vanguard released
a number of these in their *classics* series which contain about 10 or 12
Deller CD's which are budget price here in Holland.
