Is a good question:Is Chopin trivial? ....etc.... And i really think is
not trivial. Chopin like Mozart many times sound "Light" in the good sense
of the word, but that "ligthness" is the "summun"of a superior artists. The
apparent simplicity in some of his words, is just a demonstration of a
complete mastering of his creativity. And of course what happen with
works as the 2nd and third sonatas.?,the Polonaise-Fantasie,?,(a supreme
simplicity) the berceuse, the fantasie in F minor?. Are they trivial? About
the concertos (E minor and F minor),those make angry some composers, because
they feel Chopin "use" the orchestra instead of try to consider it into a
more important context.Well it's true: Chopin "use" the orchestra and he
was not interested in any more.Anyway i consider the orchestration made by
Chopin more than "enough" because (i think) he use the orchestra just as an
"little complement" and no more than that. Regards:
Gerardo:.
