Don Satz, also standing up for Nielsen, suggested:

You are an unusual guy. Usually people don't get caught up with Nielsen
by listening first to his quartets or the 6th Symphony. Usually they hear
Symphony 1-5 and nearly faint from the ecstasy of realizing that one in
their own century was a true musical genius of the Bach, Beethoven, eh!
Brahms --wait! "the German Requiem-- remove "eh!" just plain Brahms
variety.

But if you say so. I'm going out at lunchtime to buy them quartets.
