I was staying at a (prime) Venice Hotel several years ago.  I asked all the
personnel in the lobby where I could go and visit some Vivaldi historical
sites.  The only places they thought I wanted and should visit was the
glassmaking Murano site!  It didn't appear to me that Venetians took any
pride whatsoever in Vivaldi!  His name didn't even appear in any of the
tourist material I had.
