I am listening to Sibelius' String Quartet in d, Op. 56, "Voces intimae"
on NPR. Wow! I've never heard his chamber music (is it all this good?),
only Violin Concerto, Tone Poems, & Symphonies (I'm still trying to
understand the last 3 syms). I was listening casually so I missed who the
performers are. Is there a definitive version? There are several
available, and although I do tend to like the Budapest Qt in whatever they
do, I have to imagine that the Qt that named themselves after this work
gives it a great reading? Just an inference...suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob K, foggy on friday
