I have the complete opposite impression. Chamber music by Debussy, Ravel
and Faure warm my cold winters. Listening to their music is like taking a
walk in the French countryside during a hot summer afternoon after lunch.
Watch "Un dimanche a la campagne" (Bertrand Tavernier). About Faure in
particular you better try the Hubeau/Navarra/Quatuor Viotti set on Erato
including the quartet, quartets and quintets with piano.
