Although I share your enthusiasm for Argerich's Gaspard, I think Ivo
Pogorelich's and Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli's readings are better.
Pogorelich's awesome tonal control and pedalling produces a diabolical
macabre atmosphere that is bone chilling; especially in the Scarbo
movement.  Michelangeli's performance, like all his recordings, is
absolutely flawless; truly a model of elegance and virtuosity.
