Preliminary Announcement
 
"REMEMBERING JOHN COTTER"
 
An informal memorial will be held for the memory of John L. Cotter
on Saturday (April 3, 1999) from 1:00 to about 4:30 at the Rainey Auditorium
in the University of Pennsylvania Museum (corner of 33rd and Spruce
Streets - Philadelphia). We hope to get all the friends and colleagues of
John Cotter to come together and to share stories, slides and some videos
that outline the life and career of this leading historical archaeologist.
We will have different people give short statements about John but also
hope to have audience participation. [We will be contacting some of you
about the more specific participation.]
 
"Remembering John Cotter" is open free to all interested people. There will
be a tea/coffee and pastries reception in the Mosaic Gallery following the
event.
 
We will be back to you with more details in the near future but are
putting out this announcment so you can researve April 3rd on your calendars.
 
If you are fairly sure you will be attending this event please drop me an
e-mail note so we can get some idea of the size of the audience.
