Celi's Brahms recordings aren't available here yet.  But I've heard
him perform (and rehearse) two of them and both were very typical Celi
renderings: steeped in performance custom, carefully articulated,conducted
with particular care for color, considered--and somewhat mugwump.  With-it
afficionados whose tastes are upset by the halation of great conducting in
Celi's generation excepted, the upcoming EMI recordings will definitely be
worth waiting for.  They should be great!
