CPO had a complete series vis a vis the classical works with Werner
Albert. Completeness is its main virtue, unfortunately. They are not
great performances: any time there is competition in a given work (which
is now most of the time), the Albert loses.
Chandos has done a lot of Korngold, most of it very good. I am not aware
of a Chandos collection of movie scores.
RCA did a couple of (actually 2.5) discs of Korngold movie score excerpts.
There are several discs of his complete or near-complete scores on various
labels in an oud of the catalog.
Robin Hood--Varese
Kings Row--Chalfont
Anthony Adverse (forgot the label)
Another Dawn (not complete or near complete) (Marco Polo)
Between Two Worlds (London)
Elizabeth and Essex (Bay Cities)
That's off the top of my head.
If Chandos is doing a collection of movie scores I'd like to know about it.
