Since I'm fairly new to classical music, I thought that Jeno Jando's
Beethoven, considering the favourable reviews, would be a nice and fairly
inexpensive way to get to know the Beethoven sonatas. I bought almost
every one in the series. I was satisfied until I compared to other
pianists (John O'Conor, Richter, Pollini) I discovered that Jando was too
literal, only playing the notes, there were not any layers to discover.
I also compared a Schubert CD with a Brendel interpretation (the one that
Don mentioned in another thread) I got the same impression So I ended up
selling the lot
