It took forever and a day, but looks like that Ewa Podles will make her
debut *in* the San Francisco Opera House, even if not *with* SFO.  She
will give an all-Rossini recital on March 13, with the Moscow Chamber
Orchestra, in the Four Seasons Concerts series.  (510-451-0775)

Four Seasons is the successor to the very controversial Today's Artists
Concerts, both under the direction of the Rev.  Hazaiah Williams.  I don't
know the latest in the series of stories about claims, suits, legal actions
left and right, but it was Williams who brought Podles to the Bay Area many
years ago, while SFO is still trying to make up its mind about this
unquestionably great mezzo.
