Joachim Kaiser, Beethovens 32 Klaviersonaten und ihre Interpreten. This
book analyzes the sonatas not only with the score in hand but also with
reference to a lot of interpretations by important pianists (up to, I think
1967, when the book was published). If you have most of these and compare
them while reading further this gets to be a mighty interesting book!
