Robert Palmer writes of Liszt's Les Preludes:
>Thousands of purchases later I still enjoy the work. The Naxos recording
>is good and one cannot question the price. Also enjoyable are Kurt Masur
>and the Leipzig Orchestra and Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic. The
>former can be purchased in an EMI two-for-one set and the Karajan is
>included on one of the DGG "Originals." I wish BMG would dig into its
>vaults and issue the Fiedler/Boston Pops performance.
Muti/Philadelphia Orchestra on EMI CDC 7 47022 2 offers a Les
Preludes, (along with other works everyone probably has too many recorded
performances of already; Bolero, and the 1812), which is a worth the price
of very many Naxoses. The recorded sound has never been bettered.
