New South Associates seeks applications for the position of Archaeologist,
to be filled in early 1999. Qualifications include as a minimum, a graduate
degree in anthropology, archaeology or a closely related field; four years
supervisory experience; a proven track record of conducting timely and
scholarly research; and the demonstrated ability to manage projects and
budgets while conducting research in a cultural resource management
environment. Responsibilities will include conducting, analysing and
reporting Phase I, II, and III archaeological projects in the southeastern
US. Experience in southeastern , Caribbean and Florida archaeology,
transportation archaeology, and Spanish language ability are all
beneficial. Both Prehistoric and Historic Archaeologists are invited to
apply - if Historic, experience in urban archaeology is important. We offer
a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package including health and

encourages individual growth. The preferred office location for this
position is New South Associates' Stone Mountain office, however,
assignment to either the firm's Mebane, North Carolina or Columbia, South
Carolina offices will be considered. Applicants who prefer not to relocate
