The majority of workers in the mercury mines NW of Big
Bend National Park were Hispanic.  One reference is:
Quicksilver: Terlingua and the Chisos Mining Company,
Kenneth B Ragsdale, Texas A&M Press, 1976.  Many
stone masons were recruited from Mexico to build company
buildings in Terlingua as well.
