Regarding the inquiry about overall buttons:
 
At the recent SHA meeting, Sunshine Psota presented a paper on "The
Worker's Clothing and Footware from the 1912 Alabama Gates Work Camp".
She talked about overall buttons, among others.  The handhout she
provided does not mention BIG MAC, but she may have information.
Sunshine is located at Sonoma State University, Anthropological Studies
Center.
