I think Rachmaninov is very well appreciated in the west. His works are
often programmed at concerts and recording frequency is high.
Rachmaninov's place among "late-romantic" composers is very secure.
I think he's in a similar bracket to Strauss and Mahler, with his niche
being his piano works, with or without orchestra.
