I have just been relistening to the Marco Polo recordings of the symphonies
and orchestral works of Raff, and to various recordings of orchestral works
by Respighi. With the exception of "Pines", "Festivals", and "Fountains",
I doubt I'd ever been able to hear any of these works 25 years ago. This
alone makes the CD revolution worthwhile. I believe that this explosion
of recorded music is also gradually expanding the concert repertoire.
