Beethoven's Late Quartets

About a year ago, I bought the Tokyo's version of Beethoven's Late
Quartets.  I didn't like them very much.  Recently, I listened to them
again and found that I like them much better.  I would like to get the
Early and Middle Quartets.  I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions,
hopefully of the lower-price, higher-quality type.  Thanks, as always.
