I've often seen this on runner bean flowers, with honey bees gaining
access to the nectar through small neat holes. The holes could well
have been made by bumble bees - we have plenty of them here (SE England)
- but I've never seen them, or any other creatures, doing it.
It doesn't seem to harm the development of the beans.
