To multiple users of BEE-L
From Andrew Matheson, Director, IBRA, Cardiff, UK
25 August 1992
Nuking AFB
Using gamma radiation to sterilize hive equipment contaminated with
Bacillus larvae was tried a long time ago (see, for example,
AA982/71), and it has been used on an industry-wide basis in
Australia for ten years (AA602/84). There is also an account of
Australian practice in AA607L/91).
The reference numbers are for entries in the IBRA journal
Apicultural Abtracts. Their use enables you to quickly find the
full and exact citation, and a summary if needed. Almost all
publications cited in AA can be obtained from IBRA's library.
