REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
The Archeology Office of the Kansas State Historical Society (KSHS) is soliciting proposals for completion of two Phase IV (salvage excavation) reports. The sites in question were both historic farmsteads located in southern Greenwood County, Kansas. Phase III testing for eligibility determination for both sites (14GR346, the Hudson farmstead and 14GR354, the Simair farmstead) was conducted in 1993 and 1994 respectively, followed by Phase IV salvage excavations in the fall of 1994. The Hudson Farmstead contained seven cultural features, while the Simair farmstead contained three. Both have been destroyed by road construction. A request for proposal and basic site location maps have been posted on the KSHS web site, and can be accessed at www.kshs.org/resource/hwyarch.htm. Basic documentation for use in bid preparation, including a management plan, site maps, and site descriptions is available upon request.
