I'm so glad you brought this up, Ed.  I also have the problem.  I'm
forever tripping over myself when I play the piano.  I hate to tell you
this but after years of frustration, I switched to the cello.  Except for
self-consciousness, because it really takes work for me to stay in tune,
I don't have the stammering problem.

As Ian suggested, I really do think it may have something to do with
reading multiple lines.  The notes get jumbled in my brain.  I really
do wonder if it's some type of dyslexia.  Does that happen to you?
