The follwing lists are run from [log in to unmask] The method to
subscribe to any of them is the same. Mail [log in to unmask] with
the body of your message being:
subscribe listname Your Name
Where listname is the name of the list you wish to join and Your Name
is your real first and last names. If you want to subscribe to more than
one list at a time you can just put multiple subscribe lines in the same
message. Please note that listserv reads the body of the message, not the
Subject line, so putting your subscribe message in the subject line will
not accomplish anything!
Beside each list I've put in parens the expected list traffic. High means
50-75 messages per day. Medium means 25-30 a day. Low means 10 a day.
Very low means 5.
The lists
(high) mahler-list devoted to Mahler, Bruckner, and other late
romantics
(medium) lieder-l devoted to lieder and art songs in all languages
(medium) devoted to Shostakovich and other Russian composers
(medium/low) bach-list Self explanatory.

Classm-l is a free-form, not topic specific list for classical music
fans. When sending messages into Dave's moderated list, you ask yourself
whether the message is on topic for the list and whether it is to rude to
be sent to the list, and if either applies the list will be moderated out.
Well, with classm-l you don't have to ask whether it is on topic or not.
Everything's on topic, unless enough subscribers get annoyed. ;) As for
the rudeness, the old classm-l didn't have a listowner while the new one
does, and overly rude subscribers will be banned from the list. (Overly
rude meaning other subscribers contact me and ask me to do something about
it.)
If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
