There was, for a time, a thread on elitism and CM.  It is talk of the
above kind which, I believe, is not as rare as it should be, that gives
a flavor of elitism and snobbery to CM, in the eyes of some --unjustly
and very unfortunately.

PS Our cleaning lady listens to Mozart, Beethoven, et al.  when she is
working.  I do not know if she has heard of Boulez, but I doubt it.
