Patrik Enander asks:

>Yesterday I found the Haitink/Boston Symphony Orchestra on a sale.
>Is it worth acquiring?

This is my favorite modern sound Brahms cycle. It's very clearly done,
from the pacing and development of the movements to the sound of the
orchestra, all are extremely lucid and well-conceived. There are no
grotesquely inflated climaxes or distorted phrase structures, just cleanly
rendered Brahms with limpid phrases and a nice understated bounce. They're
always a delight, not a big fuss of which to grow weary in a few months.
