As far as Mozart's successfully maintaining a grim mood I would agree
on the g-minor symphony, not on the c-minor concerto.  I've always been
frustrated how the building blacks of tragedy in that concerto have been
shortchanged by the need for the pianist to show off.

For another successful grim-mood piece try the c-minor wind serenade (even
if he does blow it away at the very end).
