In quick fashion, Music Boulevard delivered to my home the 2-cd set on
Proprius devoted to Sjogren's violin sonatas and two other violin/piano
pieces.

I listened to the set last night and was highly impressed. Although
romantic in nature, the music has a restraint which I favor compared
to some other romantic composers who usually give us a full-blown,
over-the-top romanticism. Also, the melodic invention is intriguing; I'm
not sure yet, but this music just might be highly distinctive. Recorded
quality is excellent.

I'd be interested in hearing Sjogren's orchestral music, but I understand
that he did not compose orchestral works, preferring the more intimate
genres.

In conclusion, I join a few other list members in strongly recommending the
Sjogren set - performances, recording, and music are top-notch.
