Well, I'd ditch the Gardiner! I thought his B minor mass skated lightly
over the surface (like his Missa Solemnis). I've yet to find a 100%
satisfying HIP B minor, so I'll stick with Richter and Marriner.
Was there a violinst on the Hogwood VC set BTW?
I'd add the cello suites: Casals and Bylsma and the sonatas and partitas
- Milstein is terrific here and, though I've not heard her set, Monica
Huggett played S#1 and P#2 & 3 here last night superbly.
Oh yes, the Art of Fugue in Hermann Scherchen's orchestration.
