Karajan might be one of the most famous conductors ever, but he's always an
underdog on this list - the completely homogenized Nazi dog.
Personally, I'm getting tired of reading all these negatives about the
man. The guy's dead. His Nazi affiliation means nothing at this point.
Besides, there were plenty of non-Nazi folks who got a big kick out of
seeing jewish individuals and families get kicked out of their homes and
herded into trains for their final destination. You didn't have to be a
Nazi to be a jerk or mean-spirited person.
Karajan's legacy will be the music he made. And, homogenized or not, that
legacy will be enormous.
