I find some of their tuttis just a bit too aggressive, but otherwise their
interpretations hang together pretty well. I heard them do one of the
quartets live last summer and felt the same way then. Some repertoire
lends itself more readily to the wired St. Lawrence way of doing things.
I guess it was two years ago that they did Shostakovich 3, transfixing the
audience.
