I think so too. Kempe was one of the greatest especially when thinking
of german music. On the same label there is the complete Brahms symphonies
which I consider most satisfying. The second and the four are older
mono recordings but that doesn't matter or does it? Further there is
a marvellous recording of Wagner's Lohengrin on EMI, the best you
can imagine. This is all I know. I am also waiting for further
recommendations.
