Yes. False, malicious rumor. Grainger's mother certainly dominated him
and arranged his life (down to finding suitable mistresses for him), but
there was never any sex between them. In fact, his mother would have been
horrified at the suggestion, as indeed was Percy. All this according to
John Bird's bio of the composer, published by Oxford Univ. Press.
