hello
HELP!!
i am new to beekeeping and have discovered that "my" bees have connected the
lower hive frames with comb. when i cut the connecting comb and pulled a
frame out to inspect i found that the bees have built brood comb which had
larvae below the hive frames!!
when i inspected the upper hive body i found what i think was brood cells
which are now empty and the outer frames are filled and capped
there were lots of bees in both hive bodies as well as the super i had
added. altho there are bees in the super they are not drawing out comb.
should the super be removed?
i replaced the frame in the lower hive and left the bees to continue doing
their thing.
i need to know how and when it would be best to deal with this excess comb.
this inspection took place 2-3 days ago. there is still lots of activity,
comming and going of worker bees. in the evening they beard over at the
entrance for a while but do not stay there as they did during the hot
weather.
