When I began beekeeping 4 years ago, I was shocked to see cockroaches hanging
out between the inner and outer covers.  Now I'm used to it.  It seems no
matter how strong or busy the colony, they'll tolerate a couple of roaches or
ants up there as long as they don't show their ugly faces down below.  I've
never seen them in the supers or brood boxes.
