I remember that recording well. I was very impressed with the music and
performances. But, continued playing did dampen my enthusiasm some. I'm
glad to have the Virgin disc, but I haven't tried to obtain any more of
Galuppi's recordings. I suppose I keep looking for the third composer who
stands as tall as Bach and Handel. Haven't found him/her yet. At one time
I thought Telemann was the one, but continued purchases found him lacking.
I have a disc of sacred music by Josef Planicky which I thought compared
well with Bach, but I haven't come across any other recordings devoted to
him. The Planicky disc is on the Arta label. I strongly recommend it and
am interested in what other list members think of it.
