The other day I heard part of a live performance of a solo strings piece
by Richard Strauss. The performers were the Mendelssohn String Quartet,
with guests Robert Mann and a bass player whom I can't remember. It was
great! The piece was identified, but unfortunately I can't remember
anything except that it was part of an opera. Would this have been the
Prelude to Capriccio by any chance? Is there other instrumental music
associated with that work? Would it have been anything else?

Thanks,
Chris Bonds
