The Women's Philharmonic performs this Saturday on April 3rd at 8PM at the
Herbst Theatre in the War Memorial Performing Arts Center in San Francisco.
The acclaimed orchestra, under the direction of Apo Hsu, will present
"Treasures, New And Old" featuring the West Coast Premiere of "Vigil for
Cello and Chamber Orchestra" by Augusta Read Thomas with principal cellist
for The Women's Philharmonic, Nina Flyer.  The West Coast Premiere of
Esther Williamson Ballou's "Early American Portraits" features the soulful
soprano Ms.  Dana Hanchard.  Also on the program:  Judith Lang Zaimont's
Elegy for String Orchestra, the newly rediscovered 1880 "Faust Overture" by
Emilie Mayer and the World Premiere performance of Jing Jing Luo's "The
Slough."
