I'd sent my earlier post when I remembered Alwyn's delicious Autumn Legend
for cor anglais and strings. I considered Gould's Fall River Legend but
thought the connection was probably a bit tenuous. How could I forget
Ridout's Fall Fair Overture, a favourite? This further prompted me to
wonder why Canadian composers don't have a higher profile. I know a few
pieces by Ridout, Morawetz, Macmillan, Forsyth, McPhee (?), Raid (if he's
now a citizen).

Deryk and others, your opinions and recommendations, please.
