Why not go to your local hardware store and get some heavy
duty wire mesh? Hardware cloth I think they call it. Cut a piece
the width of your opening and a little larger than your bottom to top
opening, bend it slightly along the mid-line of its width and simply
push it in the opening and it will stay in place fine. Inexpensive,
easy method and reusable. No need for something complex and
time consuming to manufacture at home.
