The Article below May have a mite of bearing on this???

This is a "direct quote" from a popular weekend magazine:-

The String Section is a Kind of Knitting Circle. Boys tend not to
be attracted to the violin because it expresses a great emotion that
blokes prefer to stifle. As the strings get bigger and move towards
the cellos and basses, there is greater comfort in being male.

The brass players tend to be brash and opinionated. Like their
instruments, they are forthright. They also drink the most. The
trumpet is boastful and extrusive instrument. Moving through the
brass section, once again, as the tone of the instrument becomes
deeper and more subdued, so the temperament of the players follows.
I do Not recall ever having had a conversation with a French Horn
player. They have a hand stuck in the mouth of their instrument
when they play. Tuba players are invariably fat.

The woodwinds are a neurotic bunch. It is perhaps something to do
with the fragility of the reeds in their instruments. There is always
an anorexic oboist. The flute player tends to have a short skirt
and sits forward over-eagerly. As before, the axis from extroversion
to introversion operates as the instruments get deeper. Anyone who
plays the contrabassoon is beset by personal demons too awful to
   contemplate.

Percussionists have a child-like enthusiasm. It's easy to be a
carefree soul when all you have to do is whack something every 10
Minutes. The harp is technically a member of the string section but
I would characterise it as the stare turn. They are somewhat vain
   and keep to themselves.

The only connection the writer has with CM that I know of he has read
"Peter & the Wolf" with One of the Local S.Os?? This is a "direct quote" =
Not my composing @ All.
