The road is definitely a hostile listening environment, but usually not
too bad for Classical music. I usually just play with the volume knob...
if the music's loud, turn it down. If it's quiet, turn it up. It still
doesn't always work for the quiet, but I'm not planning on doing serious
listening in the car, just passing the time. And I can tell you, on those
hot summer days, with the windows rolled down, it's quite a kick to pull up
next to a car blasting their rap music... and turn up the stereo. Doesn't
work for all pieces, but today I have the Slavonic Dances in my car, and
those work especially well.
