Interesting that Wagner always seems to promote so much discussion, but so
is he also the most written about person in world history after Jesus and
Napoleon.

Wagner took interest in protestantismus, right, but I have never heard
this.  OTOH I can tell the project he wanted to do after Parsifal, but not
had time and power for - he was as you know an old man at the time - was an
opera based on Buddistic mythology, which Wagner took interest in and had
planned about since the time of his first Schopenmhauerlove.
